Mothers Day Cards

Here are the 2 mothers day cards that I made:
One for my mother in law:

Papermania card blank, K&Co paper, image was made up of country house stamps that came free with Papercraft Inspirations a while back, I set them into a scene and then coloured them with Promarkers.
I added a piece of pergamano paper to dull the colours to go with the K&Co paper.
Flowers and buttons from my stash.

Then I made this one for my mum to go with her photo frame, not taken in the best light

Paper is another one by K&Co again from their 360 page stack, stamped image is from Kanban coloured with promarkers. Lace and ribbon I got from the fabric shop just for this card.
Not too sure about adding a sentiment to this one, I don't know whether it would look too much.

Updated here are some better pictures in daylight:

A mothers day present for my mum

This year, instead of the normal kinds of mothers day presents, I decided that I wanted to try something new and use some crackle paint on a photo frame. I had never done it before but thought I'd give it a go.

Here is the frame to start with from Wilkinsons:
I took out the glass and the backings and put them to the side which left this:
I used some picket fence crackle paint:
Covered the entire frame:
Then I got out my heat gun and crackled all the paint:
Here is is all crackle painted:
I covered the back in just normal white paint as I didn't want the wood colour to stand out if its visible from the side.

I used to thin ribbon to wrap around the bottoms of each frame:
Green is my mum's favourite colour
I bought some of these pretty flowers which were originally on metal stalks but I cut off the metal stalks so that I could stick them on like this. I used some silicon glue to stick it on so that they were fully secure and I could get them at the angle that I wanted.
Added some flowers to the middle frame with the yellow ribbon:
I then used a couple of Kanban stamps that I cut out using my craft knife and coloured with my promarkers
This one was painful! It took soooo long but it was worth it!!
Here is the final frame:

I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Chocolate cupcakes and Chocolate Herman cake

A busy few baking days here.
Firstly I made some chocolate cupcakes with rich chocolate buttercream and giant cadbury's chocolate buttons on top.
This was me doing my good wifely duty and baking these for my fiance's lunchbox this week.
My cakes always go down well with him.

Then I made a chocolate herman cake. My office is going to be one happy office tomorrow I'm sure as most of this is going in tomorrow:
Before it went into the oven:
 Fresh from the oven:
 Fresh out of the tin:
Close up of the nuts and chocolate chips

It tastes very much like chocolate brownie and is very nice!!
