Button frames

My son made a button frame from lolly sticks at school so I decided to copy him and make a pretty one with some buttons that I had bought but didn't have a use for. Here it is:

I started off with some plain lolly sticks that I stuck together using a glue gun and then I painted them white as I wanted them to have a white background rather than a wooden colour.

I then used the glue gun to glue the buttons on like this. These amazing buttons are craft buttons that I bought on Amazon that came from China.

Then I used some ribbon to put them together and backed them in strong white card so that a picture can be slotted in the top. I haven't put any pictures in there just yet as I don't have anywhere for it to go at the moment and I may decide to give it away instead.

Tree button frame

I made this the night before I was due to be induced, I managed to finish it in an evening.
I started off with a large Ribba IKEA frame although the inside cardboard frame was a little larger than I wanted so I used my craft knife to trim it down a bit, I wanted it to be about an inch wide.

I used some crayola chalks to do the background and then rubbed it with kitchen roll in order to achieve the desired background effect.

I then roughly laid out the buttons of the trunk where I wanted them and stuck them down
I then did the same thing with the red, yellow and orange buttons of the "leaves" before sticking them down.
Here it is out of the frame:
Here is a close up of the "leaves"

I had the heart button which fitted perfectly in the big brown button so I had to use it:

Then here it is in the glass frame:

I am so proud of this, not 100% where i'm going to put it yet but if I can't find a home for it here my mum really wants it

Button Frame for my brother

I didn't make my brother a birthday card, I wanted to make this frame for him instead. I've had the idea in my head for a while so although it will be late, I'm hoping that he likes it as he is very much into photography.  I'm sure he's not bothered about a card and this will last much longer than a birthday card anyway.
I haven't given it to him yet as I didn't want to send it in the post and my family should be coming over very very soon to see our baby girl once she is out in the world.

Here are some pics:
